Shipping & Returns

All Modterra pieces are made to order in our Denver, Colorado studio. We cast each piece by hand after an order is placed, so we don’t keep inventory on the shelf.

From time to time we may have a small number of pieces in select finishes available for immediate shipment. If you're working on a tighter timeline, visit our ready-to-ship page or reach out at hello@modterra.com and we can let you know what’s currently available.

Production Lead Time

Once an order is placed, production typically takes 3 to 4 weeks before the piece ships. If something will take longer than expected, we’ll reach out and keep you updated on the timeline.

We typically ship samples and sample boxes within 3–5 business days.

Shipping

We currently ship throughout the contiguous United States. Once your piece leaves our studio, most deliveries arrive within 3–5 business days, depending on location. You’ll receive tracking information as soon as your order ships.

If you're located in Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, or outside the United States, please reach out to us directly to place an order.

Signature confirmation may be required for certain orders.

Once a package has been marked delivered by the carrier, responsibility for the shipment transfers to the recipient. If an issue arises after delivery, we recommend first contacting the shipping carrier directly.

When Your Order Arrives

When your order is delivered, we recommend taking a moment to look over the exterior of the package before signing for it. Once inside, please open the package within 48 hours and check that everything arrived safely.

If anything was damaged in transit, send us an email at hello@modterra.com with your order number and a few photos of the packaging and the product. We'll work quickly to make it right — please note that replacement pieces follow standard production lead times of 3 to 4 weeks.

Changes, Returns, and Exchanges

Because every piece is made to order, we ask that you reach out within 24 hours of placing your order if you need to make a change or cancel it. Once production begins, we're not able to modify or cancel the order.

Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery for store credit, minus a 25% restocking fee. To be eligible, the piece must be unused, in its original condition, and packed in the original packaging. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. Sample orders and sale items are final sale.

To start a return, email hello@modterra.com with your order number and proof of purchase. Once we receive and inspect the item, store credit will be issued within 3 to 5 business days.

Will It Fit?

Before placing your order, please make sure the piece will fit through any doorways, hallways, or access points required to bring it into the space. If you're unsure about dimensions or installation conditions, feel free to reach out before ordering. We're always happy to help think it through.
